Small children have always loved fiddling with blocks, and as they grow older this love of blocks just gets stronger and stronger, especially once they obtain their first couple of sets of Legos.It is pretty unbelievable just how far Legos have come since my wife and I were little kids.The latest Lego kits really do let your imagination just run wild thanks to such fantastic kits as the Ferrari race car, all kinds of Star Wars kits, and every thing in between.So if you have a little one that is having a birthday shortly you ought to look at perhaps purchasing them a Lego kit or two.It will not merely give them hours of playing fun, but will almost certainly spark their imagination as well.If I was looking to buy a Lego series that nearly every young boy would want, it would have to be the Lego Kingdoms series of kits.All of these amazing Lego kits are based on a knights and castle based theme.The biggest set of this series is the Kings Castle that is a 933 piece set that will allow your little one to build the Kings Castle that includes a functioning front gate, a working draw bridge that moves up and down, and several catapults to guard the castle as soon as it is finished.Of course what good king would be complete with out some sort of arch enemy, and the bad guy in the Kingdoms series is the Dragon Knight.He has his own terrifying prison tower set complete with a princess that has been kidnapped from the good kings castle.If castles and knights are not likely of much interest to your child then there is a second exciting series of kits that is gaining in popularity called the Lego Hero Factory.This Lego series is all about good robots that are produced at the Hero Factory to protect the universe from the bad robots who are trying to take over the known universe.So if your child is into robots then maybe they might be interested in this excellent series of kits instead.

There are probably 10 different colors, so we found getting out all my wife's plastic and metal bowls was very useful for separating pieces by color and size. Lego is top notch toys for replay value, but this one is staying assembled because the play value is already so high!You won't be able to get enough of this thing. Second the battering ram is cool! It is rubber band loaded pull back and blammo crownie castle walls!! Third the string pulled platform with the sword wielding troll is super cool, you can seriously attack castles in this way! Fourth and my personal favorite, the tower which the trolls attack has a wall made to break a way and release the floor of the second story prison cell which sends the captave troll flying out the bottom of the tower through the break away door, straight back to his troll buddies!!
