Small children have always loved fiddling with blocks, and as they grow older this love of blocks just gets stronger and stronger, especially once they obtain their first couple of sets of Legos. It is pretty unbelievable just how far Legos have come since my wife and I were little kids. The latest Lego kits really do let your imagination just run wild thanks to such fantastic kits as the Ferrari race car, all kinds of Star Wars kits, and every thing in between. So if you have a little one that is having a birthday shortly you ought to look at perhaps purchasing them a Lego kit or two.It will not merely give them hours of playing fun, but will almost certainly spark their imagination as well.If I was looking to buy a Lego series that nearly every young boy would want, it would have to be the Lego Kingdoms series of kits. All of these amazing Lego kits are based on a knights and castle based theme. The biggest set of this series is the Kings Castle that is a 933 piece set that will allow your little one to build the Kings Castle that includes a functioning front gate, a working draw bridge that moves up and down, and several catapults to guard the castle as soon as it is finished.Of course what good king would be complete with out some sort of arch enemy, and the bad guy in the Kingdoms series is the Dragon Knight. He has his own terrifying prison tower set complete with a princess that has been kidnapped from the good kings castle. If castles and knights are not likely of much interest to your child then there is a second exciting series of kits that is gaining in popularity called the Lego Hero Factory. This Lego series is all about good robots that are produced at the Hero Factory to protect the universe from the bad robots who are trying to take over the known universe. So if your child is into robots then maybe they might be interested in this excellent series of kits instead.

This review is from: LEGO Tower Bridge #10214 (Toy) Lego has earned a reputation as a somewhat pricey but very dependable toy. Lego is very well built, so you always end up with a model that looks like the picture on the box. This model was a great build. Three instruction books were very easy to follow. So many pieces (over 4000) and building two identical bridge towers made this somewhat tedious at times. Great model for adults or older children. However, a kid with a good attention span can do the model, at least down to about ten years or so. Younger, & might need some help. There are two things I particularly liked about the London Tower Bridge model. First, it has wonderful detail. It was fun to stop while building it just to admire the decorations as it was being constructed. Great engineering meant it went together as expected, all pieces fit, and the final result is a showpiece worthy of your living room coffee table. At 40" long, it is just about large enough to fill most coffee tables... This review is from: LEGO Tower Bridge #10214 (Toy) jeeeezzzzz, i am about MAYBE a third of the way done as of right now, so i can't say how it is going to turn out when done. I just wanted to say it is a really nice lego set to add to my model collection.there are a TON of tiny pieces here. it could have been cut down to half as many overall if lego had made special pieces for it. of course, then, it wouldn't look like a masonary bridge you get almost every color lego makes: black, two shades of greay, brown, two shades of blue, biege, and even some red, yellow, and a couple green pieces. there are THREE books (yeah three) and they are very detailed. not to worry that you will put something where it doesn't belong (the brown on brown imperial flag ship comes to mind. but i still love that one). when complete there are two cars a truck and a double decker bus to drive across. i googled "london tower brdge" to get a look at what it REALLY looks like and it is very close. a lot of great facts... This review is from: LEGO Tower Bridge #10214 (Toy) I had been looking for a modelling project that was challenging, but did not involve paint or glue. My son,who is 37, was coming home for the weekend and I knew he loved Legos as a child. I searched for a kit that the family could enjoy and would make a display piece.I am completely satisfied. We had lots of fun building it and the final model is unbelievable in detail and beauty. It was challenging, having about 4,000 pieces, some of which are quite small for my stubby fingers. But my son and wife had no problems. The drawings are well done and easy to follow. There are probably 10 different colors, so we found getting out all my wife's plastic and metal bowls was very useful for separating pieces by color and size. This saved a lot of time searching for pieces, but plan on lots of search time. I am now searching for the next one and hope my son can help me on his next visit. |

Lego is top notch toys for replay value, but this one is staying assembled because the play value is already so high! You won't be able to get enough of this thing. I am a collecter I'm 29 years old, I have played with this several times. It is very ingenius. First it looks awesome, great detail from the wheels to the battering ram. Second the battering ram is cool! It is rubber band loaded pull back and blammo crownie castle walls!! Third the string pulled platform with the sword wielding troll is super cool, you can seriously attack castles in this way! Fourth and my personal favorite, the tower which the trolls attack has a wall made to break a way and release the floor of the second story prison cell which sends the captave troll flying out the bottom of the tower through the break away door, straight back to his troll buddies!! Crownies and Dwarfs beware this is one bad troll beast!!! 5 of 7 people found the following review helpful = Durability: This review is from: LEGO Castle Tower Raid (Toy) [Review by 9-year-old son.] It builds great! Anyone my age could build it.It looks awesome! The Troll Siege Tower has lots of awesome things you can do with it like a battering ram. It is fun to play. Me and my dad play it a lot and love it. The figures are awesome. I love the shields. They are cool. By John A. White (California) - See all my reviews = Durability: Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: LEGO Castle Tower Raid (Toy) My son bought this with birthday money and loves it. The siege tower has some fun features like a working battering ram and a string pulled drawbridge. The castle has a swinging door, and a collapsing wall and floor. Took my son about two hours to build. Along with his other lego sets, he has played with it all week. |
